As a "latchkey" kid of the 1980s, I would have a couple hours every afternoon to look around my family’s home and find a reason or draw on inspiration, to change the look, feel, and sometimes function (!) of any given room. I loved “surprising” my parents when they would arrive home from work. I’d meet them at the front door, ask them to close their eyes, and I would lead them to the room of my latest "creation". After taking in the new scratches on our hardwood floors from my moving the furniture or looking for items or furniture that were no longer where they left them, Mom and Dad would often marvel at my curious interest in design. More often than not, they would even welcome my latest updates and stylings.
I was a kid who spent Saturday afternoons watching fashion icon Elsa Klensch on CNN's Style which covered fashion and interior design from all over the world. Or I could be found soaking up the latest issue of Architectural Digest dreaming of being a world-famous interior decorator.
Fast forward to today - after obtaining my undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in History and a masters in Corporate Communications, years of decorating and designing events for friends and family, and making my career as a non-profit fundraiser, I am finally pursuing my dream - my joy and my first love of interior decorating and lifestyle design. Decorating spaces for not only beauty, but for form AND function. Creating beautiful spaces while ensuring everything works for my client’s lifestyle so that they too can find their joy. Creating the perfect blending of style + function + affordability is truly a lifelong dream come true.
